MessageMembers of the Imperial Senate,

I would like to point out the inaccuracies regarding the state of Haejo University, a private institution of higher education. We do not receive government funding and it is therefore not in the power of the government to determine our financial state. Since the closure of the Ryeo Foundation we have faced unique financial difficulty due to the significant role the Foundation played not just in our endowment but also in our board of trustees. However, contrary to statements that have recently been made, our institution is not closed and continues to admit students. Thanks to the generosity of our many successful alumni and other supporters of high education we have been able to continue operation. We look forward to continuing our mission to educate the youth of this nation and to advance scholarly causes.

Thank you,

Kim Suyang
President of Haejo University
