| Eighty years ago, the fascist monarch of the time - an ancestor of the incumbent on the throne - introduced the Wrnukaék Supremacy Bill, a step towards ethnic cleansing and oppression in our country: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=537447 It relegated Vanukeaans from one of the two official languages to one of secondary status and also removed its use in state affairs. This was, and still is, a bad mistake made by an uncaring tyrant. Vanukeaans is still spoken by more people than any other language (41 per cent) (OOC: See current cultural protocol: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=345020 ). Therefore, this bill, if passed, will repeal that element of the Wrnukaék Supremacy Bill and restore Vanukeaans to a position as one of two official languages - a much fairer representation of our country, its people, its history and the modern day situation. We will look to change the other elements of the aforementioned bill in a constitutional amendment proposal if this passes. Thank you Gus De Smet Republican Party |

| Message | OOC: from an OOC perspective I'd argue the CP are wholly outdated since I post-poned updating them with the mod enforced CP's that might come. At this point the number should probably be lower. Still a sensible bill. |

| Message | OOC: Hey Kubrick! I understand what you are saying but I see the Mods have put the whole enforced CP debate on hold for now, following lively discussions :). So I can only RP what is in front of me. But let's say you reduced the Vanukeaans speakers by up to 5 per cent (the usual limit) I would still be able to say in character that well over a third of the country speak the language. BTW, if you did wish to adjust the CP now I am happy to go along with that. |
