Bill: The 'Just Society' Programme
Details
Submitted by[?]: Luthori Workers' Committee
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 4357
Description[?]:
The Luthori Workers' Committee believe that confidence and liberty must be restored to our policing and justice systems. To do this we demand the following reforms. 1. That the instances of police brutality and suppression we have seen occur in Luthori come to an end. In order to restore trust in law enforcement and faith in our justice system, we must remove the military from policing entirely and introduce policing by consent. 2. We demand an end to the death penalty, the symbol of an unjust legal framework. The right of appeal, or a retrial in light of new evidence, is something which must always remain open those incarcerated. 3. We demand there be true equality before the law by ensuring that all citizens, irrespective of material wealth, have fair legal representation 4. We demand that voting rights be returned to those who have served their sentences. Jon Healey, Luthori Workers' Committee |
