MessageComrades,

This would introduce huge inefficiency, and fragment what is at present a rational and well coordinated system. Countries with privatised healthcare have systematically higher costs, not coinciding with any tangible improvement in outcomes, but simply as a result of excessive managerial pay, the gold-plating of services to rich patients, and the higher margins demanded by the private sector. And all for the sake of profit, the sacred cow of the Whigs and too many others in this chamber.

MessageThat's the beauty of the free market, if there is a poorly run private hospital, patients will go to another hospital where they get a better service at a better cost. Under this system, poorly run private hospitals will be weeded out by the free market, and only hospitals which provide their patients with good, efficient services will survive. Under the current government system, poorly managed government hospitals keep chugging along with tax payers money. Essentially, we are funding failing hospitals.

Random fact: RP laws follow the same passing rules as in-game variable laws. Laws that are not of a constitutional nature require a simple majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. Laws that are of a constitutional nature require a 2/3 majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. RP laws may be abolished a simple majority vote this applies to ANY RP law.
