Message | Many of these things are not harming secularism, they are changing our government from state sponsored atheist to secular. Forbidding religious clothing, banning religions the government doesn't recognize.... That's not secular. That's anti-religion. |
Date | 22:05:05, March 14, 2018 CET | From | Bewegung | To | Debating the Religion Reformation Bill of 4362 |
Message | Bewegung have had many internal discussions around this very issue. Admittedly, this is something that our party is divided on. From one perspective, laws that could be considered anti-religious could also be seen as protecting secularism. This begs the question, does secularism mean religion is free from laws and regulations or does it mean it has to actively enforce religions not promote itself? The Ministry for Education and Culture would like to consult with all political parties on this issue. Tobias Lühmann, Federal Minister for Education and Culture |

Message | I believe religion should not be restricted or supported by law. You shouldn't have be worried about being a part of a religion the government doesn't like. You shouldn't have to worry about wearing clothing that supports your religion. The government is supposed to protect basic rights. Not destroy them |
