Message | There's no such thing as 'free' healthcare. One way or another it has to be paid for. The socialist system of paying for it out of general taxation is counter-productive because it stimulates demand (by making it free at the point of access to the populace) without stimulating supply (by allowing providers to charge what the market will bear). If you really want to look after the poor, buy yourself some health insurance and buy some insurance for a poor person. That way you'll both get decent healthcare and it'll still cost less than letting a wasteful bureaucratic state mess it up. |
