MessageTHE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Turner of Saisyut)

Mr. President,

Thank you to you and Members of the Gathering for bringing up the Treaty of Cezareo for consideration.

Mr. President, the Treaty of Cezareo is a landmark document in Majatran history. The treaty laid out the terms of peace following hostilities in the Tokundi War and thus has regulated foreign relations in the Southern Majatra region for more than two centuries.

Mr. President, the decisive role played in the prosecution and resolution of the Tokundi War by the men and women of the armed forces and Hawu statesmen and stateswomen like President Hermelinda Shelby Justified, Pharaoh Saksoure V Justified, and Admiral DeQuan MaatyTaphmēi will not be forgotten by students of history. The extraordinary work of these men and women of Hawu and thousands more like them was responsible for securing The Free Kingdom's role as a military, economic, and diplomatic power of the first rank beginning in the 41st century. It is for these reasons that the Tokundi War of Independence and the Treaty of Cezareo are therefore part of the heritage of the founding of our beloved land and the global balance of power as much as they are key to the contemporary politics of Southern Majatra.

Unfortunately however, Mr. President, the Coburan government continues to be occupied by an Augustan Nationalist regime who are as ignorant of Coburan and world history as they are hostile to Cobura's heritage and interests and the heritage and interests of the greater Esinsundu World. Their ignorance and hostility has lead them to withdraw from the Treaty of Cezareo without the barest pretense of reason, necessity, or justification. The move is simply another in the long line of attempts by the Augustan Nationalists to dismantle Coburan heritage piece-by-piece and thereby erase it from the memories of Terra.

However Mr. President, we are secure in our conviction that the spirit and light of Cobura shall live eternally. For it was the ancestors who determined to write in stone and erect the great colossi and monoliths which are the envy of the world so that we, their grandchildren's grandchildren, would know of their works and the workings of the Gods, and thereby further their spirits for order, balance, and Taphmēi in the universe. The Treaty of Cezareo is part of that long and ancient list of writings which preserve the divine knowledge. And therefore it is incumbent upon us as stewards of The Free Kingdom to preserve this knowledge in accordance with our Constitutional mandate to protect the Arkhē even as the Arkhē is occupied by the godless of Pethōou and wretched of Satanil, lest it be erased from the world forever.

Thank you, Mr. President.

I've seen members of the Labor Party enter the chamber without making remarks on the bill, so we'll assume they have no objections.

We'll proceed to vote. This is a 28 hour vote.

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval.

The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children." - Dwight D. Eisenhower
