Message | I tried to set it to 500, but it went to 75 instead. Too bad you can't capitalize on zombies, just like they do in Canada. I'm just joking anyway, I was going to ask something: If someone wants to keep working after 66, they will not be allowed to, right? So I thought, maybe we will get more money if we let the old people work. Tell me what you think about it. |

Message | There should certainly never be a compulsory retirement age - why force people to stop working if they don't want to? It's worse than that, why force people to stop working, who have loads of experience and want to work, in order to pay them to sit around doing nothing? Even if the economics escapes you, surely there has to be some health impact of suddenly going from working full time to doing nothing. On the present proposal, it is not entirely clear to what the professional retirement age relates? Does it oblige people to stop working? Is it simply the age that the state pension (if there is one - and in Trigunia there is not) kicks in? It's a mystery. As we can't know exactly what this thing means, but it could be dangerous, we should certainly raise it as late as possible (remember that even in lazy welfare states, the original pension age was set ABOVE average life expectancy). We will certainly vote for an increase to 75. |

Message | Oh, and we don't capitalise on zombies here in Canada, which is unfortunate as if we did that might ease our labour shortage. Maybe you are thinking of Haiti? |

Message | It's like this now: "The state does not operate a pension system. Individuals must save up for retirement on their own." !!! Then we should actually raise the retirement age |

Message | Exactly, as I pointed out above - Trigunia does not have a state pension system, so any aspect of this proposal as it relates to state pensions activating is irrelevant to us. However, there is still the risk that this may mandate retirement at a particular age. In any event we should raise it. |

Message | Retirement age is minimal retirement age, not compulsory retirement age, according to my father, an economist. |

Message | 'Retirement age is minimal retirement age, not compulsory retirement age, according to my father, an economist.' minimal retirement age for what? i can retire whenever i want, i just can't expect anyone to give me hand-outs. realistically, i will retire when i have built up sufficient savings that i no longer need to work. why do i need a legally determined retirement age for that? |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols. |
