| Honourable members of the Chamber, The word 'illegal alien' means that an immigrant is considered illegal, which could be due to one of these two things: 1) They came here, applied for citizenship and their request was denied, and they remained here nonetheless. 2) They came here, haven't applied for citizenship or residence at all and have no right to be here. Either way their actions should not be rewarded with a permanent residence in Istalia! If they had just followed the law they wouldn't be illegal at all! This law is basically a matter of whether we punish offenders or not. And last time i checked, the law still had to be obeyed in this country. See, these people have had their shot at staying here, and ruined it; acting righteous and strong with the law on our side will not destroy our image abroad, no, it will strengthen our image as determined nation that cannot be messed with! | Message | Minister of Foreign Affairs Chiarina Pozzi: Mr. Fiore, The current law is sufficient. I will tell you right now that if this bill passes, it will damage my ability to negotiate with other countries because they will say "Minister, we cannot work with you. You harm our citizens in Istalia." This is not right. All these people want is to live prosperously in the strongest nation in the world. Not to mention that according to numbers provided to the PUP by our policy research team, ten of thousands of these immigrants that would be adversely affected by this bill work in jobs that strengthen our economy. Mr. Speaker, we cannot allow this bill to pass, or else it will harm our economy and the ability of the Foreign Office to negotiate with countries abroad. Thank you.
