Voting deadline: October 4374
Description[?]:
Domitillan Law on Strikes Senators, The Republican Party once opposed the expansion of the right to strike, believing that certain categories of workers are vital for the continued functioning of the economy. But in recent years, with the steady development of workers' rights and the rise of worker-run businesses, it has become unjust to prohibit workers from showing solidarity with their fellow citizens in the face of oppression and discrimination. The right to strike is one of the most basic rights of the Republic, along with the right to associate, speak through a representative, and bargain collectively. Expanding the right to strike under the present circumstances will not lead to a decline in labor, but an improvement in working conditions. The right to strike is then vital for the protection of a meaningful process of collective bargaining, without which all other economic laws of the Republic become toothless. We thus call on the Senate to expand the legal right to strike, not in order to disrupt business, but to grant workers a powerful negotiating tool in their quest for better working conditions.
