| The benefit of a required military or civilian service can deterr other nations from invading us if most of the country is one huge milita, but the people will have some military experience and if a invasion happens, the enemy will have one heck of a time trying to get control of the country. Certain illnesses, health problem, mental issues, etc. are provided exemption from the arm forces. |

Current: All adults upon completion of schooling must serve a term in the military.
Proposed: All adults upon completion of schooling must serve either a term in the military or a lesser paid term of civilian national service, at their option.

| Message | No thanks. If our citizens must be forced to defend their homeland, then we have no legitimacy and deserve to fail. The LSP does not support invasions of other countries without just cause. Having a voluntary military means that the people themselves can show whether or not they support an offensive war also. |

| Message | No, no, no,no. It gives all of our citizens to become a part-time miltia with after joining the military or national guard. This will give us the advanage if another country attacks us. We have no intention of using this miltia to attack other countries. This will give a limited full-time military and a citizens' militia that is called in times of need, like the Swiss. |
