Bill: Proposed Early Elections

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kirlawan Social Democrat Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4380

Description[?]:

Given the current political climate with it unknown how long or if Ár nAontas will remain disengaged. Can I suggest that if by the end of the year there has not been progress made to bring them back into the assembly to engage either in government or in opposition that this assembly allows the people of Kirlawa to make their opinion known on policy decisions by using their vote. Obviously a few big policy decisions in a number of Bills and there will be some who may feel that they are against the wishes of the people. It is with a heavy heart that I put such a proposal before the assembly but I believe wholeheartedly in democracy and ensuring that we are fulfilling the wishes of the people as we have been democratically elected to do so.

Sean Hume, SDLP

(OOC) Unlike the first time I had made a call where I was extremely new to this simulation on geopolitics this call comes from genuinely wishing to have a good RP experience where in real terms this does happen over major policy areas were there are disagreements. And given that OrangeCrusader has opted to RP a walkout this would seem like a response that anyone who was RPing along with him would possibly take. Just my thoughts.

MessageI'm fine with this if you want it ... on the condition that as many of us as possible please vote during December 4381 -- not before, not after --
for another early election, so as to return our elections to their current schedule after this one-off extra one, please.

MessageSorry, but, I've reconsidered; it's already Wednesday. The subsequent actual early election bill, in all likelihood wouldn't pass until Thursday. There'd be barely enough time to get any bills in before Saturday when I'd want another election in order to restore our current/previous schedule.
All in all I feel that it's easier to skip the hassle; that scheduled election will be here very soon enough. Sorry :(

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval.

Random quote: "The 20th century has been characterised by three developments of great political importance: the growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power; and the growth of corporate propaganda against democracy." - Alex Carey
