Bill: Increase worker's rights

Details

Submitted by[?]: Partido Por La Libertad

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4382

Description[?]:

For the people to be free, they need to be out of the grap of authority, in this case, the authority of the employer. Workers in our nation can be subject to miserable wages, and if they dare to protest, they can be fired from their job.

We need to give the worker a voice, and that's what this bill is for.

MessagePartido Social Demócrata we need your votes in favor. This bill will return rights to workers as basic as the right to strike.

MessageWorkers already have the basic right to strike. This legislation would mean that workers can go on strike for unreasonable reasons, such as not being allowed to drink at work or something equally stupid. Workers should be allowed to strike but not for the wrong reasons.

MessageI doubt that "propostion" for drinking on work would be supported, along with anything else that is stupid. People have common sense, so even thought one or two may think that they should drink at work, other workers could easily ignore them.

Apart from that, we certainly need article 2. Daily working hours should be regulated between the employer and the worker, in this case, represented by a trade union.

MessageWe like article number 2 but the first proposal seems a bit too much, we don’t want the workers to abuse business owners with that kind of power, don’t we? Now, we’re not saying that workers shouldn’t go on strike we just believe that it’s not right to ignore completely one side of the debate. How about we settle on a medium point in which the government has to be consulted before firing workers for these kind of reasons? In that way both the interests of the workers and the businessmen will be kept in mind when deciding this kind of things.

MessageI think that could be a nice middle ground. However, we would have to wait for this propostion to pass/get rejected before proposing the other one.

MessagePartido Por La Libertad, if the law allows people to go on strike for any reason, then there will be strikes for completely trivial or unnecessary reasons. Better to the leave the law as it is than allow strikes for any reason whatsoever.

MessageLeague members, if you continue like that, there will be a strike. but a general and permanent strike because you will be making the most savage capitalism
