MessageAnd how will we handle issues where a powerplant is mismanaged and we can no longer provide our citizens with sufficient power? Would it not be better to take over the company for a short time until another investor wishes to fill the gap of service?

MessageIf a power plant is mismanaged it wouldn't go offline unless a huge accident occured which can occur even at ones that aren't mismanaged. Not to mention we produce suffient power to our nation. If one station goes down the others can send their extra power to the problem area.

Current Policy: Government policy on energy generation. Currently: Private and public powerstations exist side-by-side.

Messagethe power plant was an example, others can be found, such as agriculture, steel, internet infrastructure, logging however...

a power plant can be managed to provide greatly reduced output. to drive up prices for example.

correct, we have private plants as well as public, if a group of private plants are run poorly they could cause a large drop in our total supply. If mismanagement occurs and causes brownouts across the nation we would not be able to construct new plants to replace the loss of power.

Or the company could go bankrupt leaving a gap in our supply and plants sitting idle until another company takes its place, either through taking over the others or building new plants.

MessageAs I said wouldn't matter as we produce plenty of energy if one goes offline the others can make up for it.

MessageWe agree with the Protectorates.

The law you site refers to substations, not power plants. Substations just relay electricity from the plant to the consumer.

Power plants are what produces electricity.

We are also against this proposal as foreign investors should not own our industries lest they benefit their home nation and not the Federation.

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too.
