| Message | Let us not be scared around this topic, it is clear to me that the current and past governments have failed to keep this country effectively updated in terms of Military Policy. We must make sure that our forces have the best, most advanced weapons as quickly as possible. Private Industry is not reliable however is cost effective. So by giving ourselves a nationalised defense industry we at least can coordinate the Navy's, Airforce's and Army's demand for weapons with production capacity. It will pick up the slack, where Private under-investment will leaves us weak. This is why it is correct to support Article 1. There are an estimated 120 million lands mines primed across the globe at this point. Land mines, that kill or maim someone every 20 minutes. Often Innocent women and young children. It's time we act to ban these evil weapons for good to stop the indiscriminate killing that these cause. This country will only drop Nuclear Weapons on non-civilian targets, quite right, so it's about time we defend the people who are victims of the evil regimes abroad. We must ban the import, export, production and transfer of such weapons and phase out our own stocks immediately. Please support Article 2. Every year, Complicated hostage situations at embassies, shopping centres and schools are recklessly drawn out by our government's inability to act to take out the people who wish to harm our citizens. We must allow a small SWAT team to be active to respond quickly and efficient to those who threaten the public. This is our opportunity to quick stamp out any dangers to our innocent citizens. If this country is under threat of war, or in war Men are required and the quicker we can win the war the less deaths and casualties it will take. The only logical option is to give ourselves the option to succeed in war by supporting article 4. |
