| Message | Once again, we agree with the BTP. My party's stance is to get the government out of marriage entirely. There should be no such thing as a "civil marriage contract." If you want marriage to be as it always has been, that's the way to go. Only recently did governments decide to institutionalize marriage legally. Marriage ceremonies should be left up to private entities, such as religious institutions. There are plenty of synagogues that will initiate gay marriages and plenty that won't. Marriage is a personal choice, and letting the government be a part of it at all opens up the door to dangerous, draconian policies like this bill. |
