Message | Mr Speaker, we would like the BCP to clarify what they propose for this bill. Liberty stand firm in our commitment to stop illegal immigrant. We believe illegal immigrants need to be detained, processed and ultimately deported. But we worry about the impact a bill like this will have on civil liberties. Perhaps it is the wording of the bill but this suggests that police can enter houses at random without warrants and due process and demand papers from people. The scars of Beluzia's Communist police state past have not healed yet. We would not like to return to this in another form. |

Message | We applaud the Liberty Party for taking a stand on this bill, and despite our many differences over illegal immigrants, that they are putting country first over party. We would also like to clarify that the so called 'Communist police state' never happened under our administration. We never proposed a single legislation that allowed the police to invade our privacy to a extreme degree or to demand papers from people without a warrant. |
