Bill: Retirement Age Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: AM RIP Tetragrammaton
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2198
Description[?]:
We believe the professional retirement age is too high. The average lifespan is around 75 years of age, and to set the age so high leaves very little time for the elderly to enjoy life without work. We propose it be lowered to 65, as is the age a plurality of nations have chosen. |
Proposals
Article 1

Message | The AM AAP is willing to support this action by our friends in the RIP... although, we are wondering how the RIP suggests this policy be funded? |
Date | 00:57:11, March 11, 2006 CET | From | Likaton Fascist Front | To | Debating the Retirement Age Act |
Message | We beleive the elderly have many useful skills that industry could employ for the the extended period of time now, however as this is not dictating the people have to retire we are going to support. This change will have the added benefit of lowering the unemployment rate for the 65-70 age bracket, which is typically overlooked by short sighted businesses. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
