Message | Venerabilis Proxenus (Venerable Speaker), Factio Phileléftheris will reject any sort of coalition with the Basiliasts (Klavian Slang for pro-monarchy NDP) at this time for a number of strongly held reasons. Notable amongst them, their support for tying our nation to the Luthorian Empire’s massive colonial presence and footprint as part of their ‘commonwealth.’ We do not abhor Luthori, or globalism, or internationalism— as liberals we treasure these things. But Klavia (Keymon) is not Luthori or Luthorian in essence. The Klavian people have been the Keymonian people for thousands and thousands of years. We stalwartly reject any vestiges of foreign rule, especially by a monarch, as we are republicans who abhor the outdated and illiberal notions of monarchy. In addition, we oppose socialism and state ownership as promoted by our honorable senatores (senators) of the NDP to be concerning and not something we can be involved in at this time, in the position of a ‘commonwealth’ dependency of an alien empire. Such a system robs Klavians and minority populations other than Luthorians of their free economic initiative and tradiuional Klavian modes of life and production. Further, we are concerned that all the members of the NDP government at this time are of Luthori culture and heritage, with none being part of the majority Klavian, or historical minority Seleucian populations. This makes us highly suspicious that we are under colonial rule, rather than freedom. As we do not yet hold seats, we thank Chancellor Rubenson even more for this offer, but we refuse it out of principle and opposition to the rulership of Klavia by Luthori. -Lukullus Kalpurnius Diepthyntus Partium, Factio Phileléftheris (Party Director, Liberal Faction) |
