| The governments of the Republic of Dranland and the People's Republic of Dranland, assembled, hereby adopt a resolution of peace and non-aggression between us. WHEREAS the secession of Elbian and the formation of the People's Republic of Dranland has strained relations between the two nations; WHEREAS the threat of war looms over the two nations, inevitably bringing death and destruction to both; WHEREAS both nations have sufficient capability to utterly destroy the other using conventional and non-conventional arsenals; WHEREAS it is in the best interests of both nations to remain in a state of peace; BE IT RESOLVED that the Republic of Dranland and the People's Republic of Dranland will refrain from any aggression, overt or covert, against the other; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a demilitarised zone be established in the area between the two nations, with an evenly-divided twenty kilometre space comprising this border; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any breach of this demilitarised zone will result in a forfeiture of all claims to territory and sovereignty on the part of the nation in breach; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a policy of free economic intercourse be enacted until the year 2110, upon which normal trade status will resume; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the region known as Elbian will be the full administrative and legal sovereign zone of the People's Republic of Dranland, and the People's Republic of Dranland will cease any and all claims to territory governed by the Republic of Dranland; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the heads of state of both nations will enter diplomatic talks at least once every year to ensure good relations between the two countries; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each nation will forfeit the right to lawfully aggress against the other, directly, indirectly, overtly, or covertly, until 2110 or until the terms of this treaty are broken, under penalty of the loss of the right to lawfully directly or indirectly maintain a standing armed force; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Republic of Dranland and the People's Republic of Dranland are at a state of peace. |
