Bill: Nationalise energy

Voting deadline: October 4409
Description[?]:
"Energy is provided by private companies but the prices they can charge are regulated", so says our legislation. Are we sure we want to give private companies the right to control our energy? It is unbelievable and - personally - quite worrying that in the 45th century we still leave our citizens into the hands of big businesses when it comes to sketching our own energy plan. Private owned businnesses and companies have always had the mission of exploiting the ones who need the most help, and in this case, we can see how allowing them to play freely with our energy resources can be dangerous. Imagine if one day a foreign company that is owned by a private individual close to some dictator/ruthless leader comes to our beautiful country and takes over an energy provider: we would become slaves of those foreign dictators, not by direct rule, but we would have to please and serve them to the point of completely subjugating us to their will. Tukarali has always been renowned for its environment and its beauty, let's not leave it to rot in the hands of someone who does not care about it and wishes and plans to destroy them. This cannot happen. Neither in our country nor in our name. Vote yes, pass this bill, and we all can become energetically independent and free from foreign lobbies and interests. Let's defend our country and our environment. Let's vote yes. - Isabel Oliveira, PPU spokesperson - Mathieu LeClerc, PPU Vice-Secretary and candidate to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism |
