Bill: UMR-02: Fair Economics Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Union für eine Meritokratische Republik

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 4410

Description[?]:

Democratic Worker's Councils have their positives and negatives, but we believe it to be unfair to force all business to be ran by them. They are suited to certain situations, but it is wisest to leave the choice over management to the businesses themselves.

Industry is an important part of our economy, and requires strong and sturdy regulation. However, the government itself often doesn't understand the nuances of every sector or industry, and bureaucracy is an often inefficient way of managing an industry. It would be better for those using these industries to have fruitful competition to drive better quality products and better quality services.

Closed, agency and union shops are unfair to workers and restrict the environments in which they can work. They force and control workers to enter a specific business, which makes work less flexible and decreases worker satisfaction. It is better to give more choice to employees, rather than having to force upon them more workplace restrictions.

MessageOver the last few decades it has been proven that worker led industry and workplace has increased productivity and has gave us an immense surplus for our economy. Not realizing these accomplishments is a serious mistake.

MessageThe government has a large surplus because it refuses to invest more in education, infrastructure and justice - not because of worker-led industry. The current economic growth is neither miraculous nor strange, and has been replicated and oftentimes beaten by previous non-socialist governments.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
