Message | The SDPB has been in the past and remains today a strong ecological party. This commitment can be easily seen through the legislation which our party has proposed in the past to strengthen our nations environmental laws. Given all this, though it is the opinion on the SDPB that the legislation this act seeks to change goes too far. It is indisputably true that private hunting and fishing when left unregulated can be harmful to the environment. It is also equally true though that these practices when well regulated can actually help the environment by preventing overpopulation of species such as Deer, whose primary natural predators are no longer present as a result of human activity. In addition to these ecological concerns, we must also consider that many people living in rural areas of Baltusia traditionally rely upon hunting and fishing to supplement their food supplies, particularly during periods of the year such as winter where traveling to secure food and other essentials from stores can become difficult, potentially dangerous, and in some extream cases nearly impossible. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
