MessageGiven the current lack of political opposition and the sheer volume of legislation that is required to turn Telamon into a liberal democracy with a free market orientated mixed economy and welfare system, the Republican Party is inclined to leave the current legislative length in place.

However, once an opposition to the current government emerges, and it must for democracy to develop, then the Republicans promise to honour the intent of this proposed legislation and reduce the legislative term of the Allthing to whatever is seen as most desirable. In the interest of good republican government a 24, 30 or 36 month legislative term is probably most desirable.

We shall leave this for discussion.

Forseti Jóhann Sigurðarson
President of Telamon, Head of Government and Leader of the Republican Party.

MessageWe would agree to shorter terms. Anything between 24 and 36 months would be acceptable.

MessageIn the interests of greater democratic legitimacy and to allow the electorate to their say we push this proposal to vote with a proposed legislative length of 30 months. Each government will have two and a half years (fiev days) to implement policy before new elections will be held.

Prime Minister

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).

Random quote: "Remember that government doesn't earn one single dollar it spends. In order for you to get money from the government, that money must first be taken from somebody else." - Governor Jesse Ventura
