Voting deadline: December 4412

Description[?]:

To maintain that only couples can build a suitable family is an anachronistic and outdated idea, and that does not correspond to reality. The quality of a family does not depend on the number of members, but on the individual quality of each of them. For that reason, any person that is suitable should have access to be able to adopt, as well as offer a possible alternative to those who can not have children and have no partner, but who are eager to give their love to a child. Defending that a person needs two paternal figures to fully develop as an individual is an idea as discriminatory as erroneous. Sometimes, and not a few precisely, a single person can bring you more than two different people. Likewise, under the current law those who wish to adopt must pass strict controls to verify that they are suitable, so if individual persons are able to pass them, why should they be deprived of a legitimate option?

In relation to divorces, exactly the same thing happens. We are human, and as human beings, we make mistakes. Forcing couples who no longer profess any love to stay together for the "good of family stability" is a lie that does not end well. With the current law, those couples who want to divorce because of major disagreements and who can not, will try to pretend to have suffered violence in their marriage, in a way that allows them to divorce. And does not this generate more instability in a family than a divorce by mutual agreement, where both people know that it was a mistake to join in marriage, and accept a contract that guarantees especially the stability of the children, if any, and their future lives separately?
