Bill: Coalition Cabinet - 4415
Details
Submitted by[?]: Zhtál-Merlkai Tjarziprta
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4415
Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, The electorate have had their say. We are extremely grateful that they have given the Z-MJP a majority and also elected us in four of the five state elections. However, it is incredibly tight and in terms of the biggest decisions affecting our nation, both parties will still need to work together. That is why I propose a cabinet which continues the theme of co-operative coalition government with the Greater National Party. However, I also want this cabinet to reflect the will of the people which is why I have put myself forward for the role of Prefect. My aim will be to honour that faith put in me by continuing to prosecute the war against Deltaria to the full extent of my executive powers as Head of Government. I wish to thank Prefect Nasir for his tireless work over the last two terms, he has done a great service to this country, continuing on from my late father. But it is time to freshen up things - it is time for change. Duke Brnó Sigzmasrmko Zhtál Leader of the Z-MJP |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The GNP is 9 seats behind the Duke's party. The dividing of ministry posts is therefore unfair. Hand Foreign Affairs to the GNP and it is acceptable. Jlekai Nasir Prefect of the Grand Council |

Message | Mr Speaker, It is our opinion that the dividing up of ministry posts is more than fair. Given our parties outright majority, more than two million extra votes compared to the GNP and four out of five state victories we should hold the head of government mantle. Additionally, I have divided the 12 cabinet positions equally between the two parties. And, of these, the four so-called great offices of state - finance, foreign, interior and defence - are divided equally between our parties. In the interests of the coalition, I would be willing to offer justice as well, thus offering seven cabinet posts out of 12 to the GNP, which is more than reasonable. We ask Prefect Nasir and the GNP to give us a swift answer (i.e. before this bill runs out in September). If we receive a negative response or no response at all by that time, we will govern alone until a compromise can be reached. Mr Speaker, I hope the GNP thinks long and hard before breaking a coalition that has served this country well for many years. Duke Brnó Sigzmasrmko Zhtál Leader of the Z-MJP OOC: I'll make a cabinet proposal with the justice ministry added for GNP which you can vote yes to if you accept :) |
