Old value:: There shall be a minimum wage at a level that a full time worker on it can support a family of four without falling under the poverty line.

Proposed: There shall be a minimum wage at a level considered a "living wage," well above the poverty line for a full time worker.

Message | This bill surely has to pass. It makes common sense that people with more money in their pockets spend more, that happy workers produce more and that workers need a fair share of the profits of their labour |

Message | It is clear with whose interests the BDP and Liberty Party lie. |
Date | 11:02:19, June 30, 2018 CET | From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the The Living Wage Act |
Message | Liberty would rather see Beluzians being trained and educated so they have the employability, skills, wherewithal to move beyond a government granted "minimum wage" or "living wage". The latter will end up putting people out of work anyway as businesses, who themselves are not "rich", struggle to meet the costs of labour. |
