MessageWe understand that the Progressives have put forward this anti-Bill safe in the knowledge that it will be veto’d by the majority Republicans. We can’t help but think that it would have been more useful to attempt to put forward sensible and moderate measures designed to ensure passage of legislation for maximum benefit, however we recognise that it is tough following an election defeat and that an effort must be made to reconnect with voters.

Some of the measures above have some merit and the Republicans will look at putting more considered proposals to vote. However we decry the lack of a central theme to this proposal and more importantly the inconsistent between switching from restrictive to anarchic proposals, some increasing the role of the state others reducing, some increasing civil liberties, some restricting. We urge the Progressives to take a moderate course on all matters and we urge the Progressives to resist some of the radical and revolutionary proposals outlined above.

Berglind Ásgeirsdóttir
Prime Minister
