Message | "It is positive that the majority of congress have seen sense to vote down this outlandish and outdated piece of legislation. Yet in the coming elections let's hope the electorate remember which way the BDP and supposed centrist Liberty party voted." - Cleo Frantzen (Openly lesbian education spokesperson for the BSPP) |
Date | 18:08:27, July 09, 2018 CET | From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the LGBTQ bill |
Message | We vote for the protection of all people's rights. Equal under the law and without favour. Not the cherrypicked few in a naked pursuit of identity politics for fleeting political gain. We stand by our vote and will continue to vote the same way. |

Message | "Here again we have the so called "family values" of the Liberty Party dressed up in the language of equality. This treaty does nothing to deny the rights of non-LGTBQ citizens and merely strengthens the rights of minorities. The Liberty Party are playing dangerous populist policies by leaping into bed with the BDP and BNP." - Gavin Hudson (campaigning in Bailon) |

Message | Liberty are amused by the use of the term "populist". We feel that is meant as a pejorative. Yet, don't the BSPP seek to win as many votes as possible with their policy positions? Nonetheless our main complaint is the usage of treaties by the far-left to force internal legislative compliance (law-locking). In this case it is accompanied by the blatant hijacking of the term "LGBT" for political - populist - aims. No, if the BSPP feel strongly about an issue they should bring it for the Beluzian congress to for discussion and possibly rejection on it's individual merit. Again, we will continue to vote against treaties that involve themselves in Beluzian internal affairs. In fact, we intend to make that a central party platform at our next conference. |
