Description[?]:
President Cagliani Stefano: While it is more than fair that politicians are entitled to a salary while in office since this allows everyone and not just the rich to take part in the political life of the country, what it's not fair is the fact that this salary far exceed the one of average people, this is unjust and also create resentment among citiziens who start to see politicians as enemies, while at the same time promoting politics as a career rather than a service to the nation and it's people. Therefore we propose to adjust these salaries to match the average ones of normal people to end the unbalance. |

Message | Sad al-Ozer, ULD Chairperson This bill is bad. And you know that very well; for the possibility of it being proposed in the future, I even created a list of why it it bad: It will increase corruption Specialists in non-political positions will earn less, which will make our resorts less efficient People will wait longer to enter politics, which will reduce political innovation There will be a reduced amount of politicians overall, as some will not want to become active politicians due to the low pay, and will instead limit themselves to being apart of a party/movement, rather than running for a position We asked our voters about this, and the ULD voters support our politicians earning more. The fact that someone does something out of passion does not mean that they can't earn a lot. Instead of punishing people for pursuing their love of politics, we should reward them for their service, that is the most natural and fair thing in the world. Don't act as if politicians are "normal people"; we were chosen by the people to represent their interests and to lead the country. We are the servants of the people moreso than the average citizen; we shape this country, we lead this; we have to be more responsible for our actions than most, and we must also be more active. |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
Random quote: "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, from those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children." - Dwight D. Eisenhower |
