| Message | Although a small minority of our citizens, polyamourous Kalistanis are subject to governmental restrictions on their recognition. Considering that the state does not involve itself with marriage or divorce, all these restrictions do is subject this minority to discrimination and heartache, on issues such as inheritance. The NLA proposal is that these restrictions are removed, and that the state takes no stance on recognition. That will allow polyamorous couples to be recognised in courts of law on issues such as inheritance, providing them with the justice they deserve. A few years, Back, the Socialist Party was instrumental in getting the government entirely out of the business of regulating marriage, which is a matter for individuals to decide on their own. We appreciate the NLA's commitment to individual liberty, and will support it as much as we can. When this bill comes up to a vote, we will vote yes. |
