Bill: Illegal Gambling Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Rightist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2065

Description[?]:

Gambling increases crime rates. Therefor, it is our responsibility to eliminate it whenever possible.

We are proposing to make Gambling Illegal so that our families can stay together and lower, not only gambling addictions but to reduce the crime rate in the country.

However, this bill will not effect non-profit lotteries. Hopefully this doesn't get abused.

MessageSupport: gambling is a form of exploitation of the poor by the rich. Games are rigged in the casion's favour.

One suggestion: could you make a non-profit lottery legal?

MessageAnd before you said you did, you said "public owned lottery" There is a big difference between non profit and public owned.

MessageYou never raised that point in debate, and as you can see, I was in favour of non-profit lotteries. You're just making excuses now.

MessageNope. Taking advantage of what you were saying in the last bill. Why should I be the one to bring it up when it was your bill and you never made mention of it?

MessageYou just said "keep gambling to where it is". If you had an issue with the bill, you should have voiced it and I would have tried to negotiate. Also, the proceeds from a national lottery would go straight back to the community, so it is arguable not for profit.

I want my apology!

MessageBut a national lotteyr can only be non-profit, which you apparently support. Apologise please!

Just to prematurely steal your thunder, the Tribal Council has passed this bill.

MessageMore to the point, it's four parties with at least some authoritarian/conservative leanings and one (usually) liberal party.

But the DSP has expressed some concern, and has requested a slight compromise. So not all that odd.

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.
