Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

Today I enter this sacred chamber as a citizen of the Kingdom upon the behest of my beloved sister, the Queen. She has met a man that she would like to marry because she likes him a lot. However, his background will be.. controversial. It is for this reason that she asked me to reason with the members of the Grand Council.

My sister would like to marry William P. Bennots, a former regional director of ODEN. A Kalistani citizen and a staunch socialist with a very republican background. His family is a political dynasty in Kalistan. I have met the man and I must say he is a bright and well-educated figure. But he is a Kalistani socialist.

I would like to remind all members that my dear father left in his will that the Queen must marry out of love. She has chosen this man. He may not be Vanukean, he may not be noble, but he is the one she wants.

Thank you.

Archduke Wrntukai Banmek-Sntazed
Acting Heir to the Kingdom of Vanuku
First Lieutenant in the Land Forces of Vanuku (1st Armoured, 2nd Regiment, 1st Platoon)

MessageMr Speaker,

It is clear to me that our society is becoming more liberal in its outlook. The legalisation of the sale of recreational drugs being a point in case.

My belief is that the shackles were first loosened when we elected a queen - a first female monarch for Vanuku. Her majesty led the way and we are quickly catching up.

Based on this it seems highly appropriate that the Queen leads the way again by marrying for love. If this is truly the man she wants to spend her life with, who are we to stand in the way.

The Bennots have a long established reputation in the international community and it would be heartening to see our relations with Kalistan improved.

So, I ask the Archduke to convey my best wishes and congratulations to the Queen. Tell her I will not stand in the way of this marriage of love.

Duke Noh Míhaljsrmko Zhtál
Prefect of the Grand Council

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.
