TREATY EXPIRATION ACT Article I - Purpose i) An expiration date to treaties involving the Republic of Beluzia shall be implemented to: i-a) enable clean up of potentially inactive or lapsed treaties. i-b) ensure members of Congress are not hampered by out of date treaties thus speeding up Congressional processes. i-c) investigate viability of proposed organisation or conditions. i-d) ensure currently signed treaties meet with current approval of the people of Beluzia. Article II - Coverage i) This legislation includes all treaties involving the Republic of Beluzia. Article III - Expiration Date i) The time set for a treaty to expire completely is 400 years from date of passage. ii) After 400 years the treaty will no longer hold any legal weight within Beluzia. Article IV - Post-Expiration i) Upon expiration the treaty must be brought before Congress and voted down by a majority. ii) The treaty may be reintroduced to Congress for renewal at any time, in part or in whole, as a new Treaty. iii) The new treaty may use the same name. The date must be updated. iv) The new treaty must pass Congress in accordance with the proper terms of leglsation (Majority, 2/3rds). Article V - Officer in Charge i) The Speaker of the Congress is hereby nominated to oversee this process when a treaty expires.
