Owing to the election, we withheld announcing the final result of the Speakership election, and with the new, less bureaucratic Congress in place, we will announce them today to ensure this House gets the Speaker that they have waited for for too long (OOC: Apologies for forgetting to hold Speaker elections after the vacancy). has won the election, and we, the KWRF, hereby propose the motion that Dr Sithembile Kawehi Wanangwa Idowu Okeke be appointed the Speaker of Congress as soon as possible. Once Dr Sithembile Kawehi Wanangwa Idowu Okeke has been approved as Speaker of Congress, she will resign from the KWRF and her position as Minister of Defence, as stated in the Role of the Speaker document: Speakers must be politically impartial. Therefore, on election the new Speaker must resign from their political party and remain separate from political issues until the end of their term. |

Message | Prime Minister Derren Seyne (Liberty).... Mr Speaker, i'd like to be the first to congratulate Dr Okeke on becoming the next speaker of Congress. We at Liberty would also like to thank Dr Okeke for such hard work and dedication to the Ministry of Defense over the years. I am sure the opposition will join me in saying that the Defense department's loss is Congress' gain. We at Liberty wish Dr Okeke the very best in the new role of speaker. government benches: hear! hear! |
