The religious within our population should be represented, thus we propose the following to represent them. |

Old value:: There are no laws regulating the wearing of religious clothing and the wearing of religious symbols.
Current: There are no laws regulating the wearing of religious clothing and the wearing of religious symbols.
Proposed: People are required to dress according to religious codes
Article 2
Proposal[?] to change The governments stance on religious schools.
Old value:: Any religion may set up a school, but they are strictly regulated.
Current: Religious schools are allowed, but are strictly regulated. Only recognised religions may set up religious schools.
Proposed: Any religion may set up a school, with no regulations.
Article 3
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy with respect to prayer in schools.
Old value:: Teacher-led prayers in schools are forbidden, except in religious schools.
Current: The government leaves this decision up to the schools themselves.
Proposed: Teacher-led prayers in schools are encouraged.

Old value:: There is no government policy concerning a state religion.

Message | The majority of this bill I am against. The EMCLP is, generally a rather religious group of people; but we respect people's right to whatever religion they wish. Our party excepts athiests, christians, muslims, jews, hindus, buddhists, agnostics and peoples from other religions that we might not have recognizied here. We are a moderate group and think that to force people into religious prayer and dress is in itself anti-religious. People should have the freedom of religion. The EMCLP cannot do anything else but vote against this bill. |
