| Right now, our police officers are only allowed to carry non-lethal weapons, with the exception of specially trained firearms units used in dire situations. Although I think we can all agree here that its use must be the last resort, in Rationibus Aeternis we strongly believe it is necessary to extend the use of lethal weapons to all police officers. Criminals will not doubt to use their weapons, and our police forces should be given the chance to defend themselves if the risk makes it necessary. |

| Message | Mr, Speaker. In OE-BS we believe not everyone has the mental capacity to carry weapons in situations of distress. Giving all police officers lethal weapons would be puting them and people around them in danger. Therefore we vote aganist this proposal. |

| Message | Mr, Speaker. Certainly not everyone is mentally stable enough to be allowed the use of lethal weapons. However, we are not talking here of giving this access to the average citizen, but to police officers. The preliminary process of selection and training ensures that our officers are indeed mentally capable of handling this equipment appropiate and proportionally. |
