Description[?]:
Senators, If we want to achieve a nation in which all citizens feel equal, we must eliminate or change those laws that only promote division, confrontation, and above all, the supremacy of one group over the rest. For years, in our nation special privileges have been granted to religion and to those who practice it, in its different modalities, leaving aside those who, for whatever reason, do not share it. The crime of blasphemy is already included as a hate crime for religious discrimination if it is proven that there was an intention to hurt the feelings of the other person, but create a specific law and even give greater penalties than those who perform other types of acts seems incredibly rudimentary and improper of an advanced society that respects the freedom of opinion. Similarly, I believe that everyone in this House respects the religious convictions of others, but institutions, as such, must be subject to the same laws that apply to other administrations. And there is no more. The government, likewise, should not interfere with those who practice their religion as they wish, as long as it respects human dignity and is not a mere cover from which to spread hatred and discrimination. Finally, I think we should all understand that, for all citizens to feel fully integrated as a people, the State should not give priority to any specific religion. Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
