Message | Article 1: We have already banned the use and production of chemical weaponry, so this law follows suit. Article 2: We are not in times of war where conscription is vital and necessary for the maintenance of the armed forces. We believe conscientious objectors should be fully exempted; later in a time of war (which we hope never happens) should we then start drafting soldiers, even from conscientious objectors. Article 3: To stop the proliferation of unnecessary and dangerous weapons produced by private weapons companies motivated by profit. Article 4: To reduce the functions of the intelligence agency in order to reduce provocations to foreign countries, but maintaining its vital roles so that our country's security and reputation will not be dwindled. Article 5: Although we have much respect for His Majesty the Emperor, the selection of military officers should really be in the hands of more qualified individuals who work for the Ministry of Defense. |
