Message | The UDRC will support this bill with the understanding that very strong additional regulations will protect our teenagers. For example, children under 14 may not be employed, children between 14 and 16 may be employed in allowed occupations during very limited hours, and children between 16 and 18 may be employed for longer hours in non-hazardous occupations. The UDRC believes that work is good for the character-building and skill development of children. |

Message | We encourage other parties to vote for this bill. It does not intend to force teenagers into labor but rather to give them an option to work while away from school. |
