| Called in the late hours of the night, at approximately 1:30 am, is an emergency session of the Bundestag on behalf of Bundespräsident Victor von Mayer in the wake of ongoing violence across multiple states. We hereby open the floor to discussion of solutions to combat the rising instability. An emergency resolution introduced by a combined effort of the Ministry of Justice, along with the Ministry of Defense, has increased the presence of highly trained Bundespolizei units, along with a small military presence in the most greatly affected areas of the nation. A resolution has been reached—With a constitutional majority of 359 yes to 41 no votes, the emergency session of the Bundestag has decided to put the nation's hands in a military junta to bring about an end to the instability facing the nation. | Message | A calm and collected response is exactly what a situation of this nature needs. I feel that the current emergency resolution proposed by the MoJ and the MoD is enough to, albeit slowly, mediate the violence occurring across the nation. | Message | This is absolutely infuriating. Since the moment Bundespräsident von Mayer has been elected he has saw a wave of extremism rise in the nation and has merely turned a blind eye to it all. His ignorance is ultimately our great undoing. I have been warning members of the Bundestag that this is exactly what happens when you elect leadership that ignores a clearly present problem in our nation, instead relying on the local governments to contain the issue. You've seen the images on social media. Cars turned into a charred hulk from a firebomb, police officers ending up with bloody noses from being attacked by nationalists. If we continue to ignore this for any longer, then we will effectively be in submission to nationalism and fascism. The only clear answer here is to give control of our government to a firm hand—The military. Contrary to Herr Binder's belief that a heavy-handed response will only increase such violence is simply wrong to believe. A strong response has been what we have been needing this entire time! It is ridiculous to sit here with our arms folded whilst extremists roam the streets! Any of you who are in favor of my proposal, I encourage you to stand in solidarity with me! The establishment of a temporary military junta and the possible suspension of the constitution may be exactly what we need to curb this bloodshed. | Message | After several hours of deliberations by fellow members of the Bundestag, of which were largely the repetition of either Herr Binder or Herr Ehrler's comments, votes have been tallied for Herr Ehrler's proposal of the establishment of a military junta. With over 359 votes in favor, and 41 against, the resolution for the establishment of a military junta has passed with a constitutional majority in the Bundestag. For the time being, we waive our democracy over to the armed forces in the hopes that a clear end to the ongoing violence will be achieved. I hereby relinquish my post to General Marko Drache, and give him full power to draft a new cabinet, along with calling emergency elections. Victor von Mayer Bundespräsident |
