Message | Absolutely opposed to article 1. People sharing common research interests should be able to freely pursue them without any meddling from the government. Nationalizing universities will hamper intellectual diversity and innovation, something we are naturally opposed to, as it effectively bans research which could harm the government's justifications for its hold on power, regardless of whether the fruits of the research could ultimately be useful for society. There is functionally no difference between this and the Catholic Church (on Earth, another planet) regulating universities lest they propagate ideas contrary to official dogma. |

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval. |
