Description[?]:
How can we have a nation where the workforce cannot even spell thier own name? I looked with disgust as i saw the dissadvantage that poorer students (and let be honest, we have a lot of them) are put at in education. Therefore, I have proposed a number of reforms aimed to tackle this issue. The first proposal aims to make education compulsory, and will help the children of Rutania enter the economic battleground with an equal chance. However, I can see that because the education system is private (and I acknowledge that changes of tax legislation to accomidate this will not be met with open arms), I propose that the government provides an economic benefit for less well-off students as the second article of this act. This will also help students achieve thier full potential, or at the very least will contribute to a better-trained workforce. The final proposal is giving local governments the responsibility to maintain high education institutions. This will allow the elite of the educational system to receive the best possible education. Although it is a step towards devolution, I believe it is neccassary for the economic expansion of Rutania. |

Message | Split of the compulsory bit. Giving kids positive rights is one thing, giving them legal obligations is another. |

Message | I am under the impression that the legal obligation is on the parents to provide conditions for their children to attend school but that's not the reason I'm against this bill. Education should be regulated by the central government in order to maintain an equal degree of learning amongst students of the same grade and so provide an equal playing field for when they apply for higher education and/or profession. |
