Bill: Lodamese Alliances for the future
Details
Submitted by[?]: Grand Nationalist Fraction
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 4791
Description[?]:
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defence ask the Presidium to discuss the following matter: While we have taken some important first steps towards the formation of a whole new Republic, we don't seem to answer the question what to do with the international alliances we want to pursue. For years, Lodamun has had economic and military relations with a few nations in Terra, but as history shows us, a lot can change in little time. Not only was Lodamun overrun by dictators, some other nations also witnessed political evolution and revolution. We would like to discuss: Will Lodamun claim military neutrality, shrinking in its military apparatus and follow restrictions? Will Lodamun seek alliances with other nations, and if so, what nations would be liable? |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I do believe we should maintain neutrality as much as we are able, unless an ally nation was being threatened or in other cases that our Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense, the President, and ultimately the Presidium determine necessary on a case-to-case basis. Also, even in peace, we should obviously maintain our army in case of an attack or an emergency of which they would be needed. Oliver Mideen NGPoL MP, Candidate for Defense Minister |

Message | Mr. Speaker, In my opinion, we should not forge alliances with nations that are ruled by dictators/brutal regimes that enslave and/or abuse their people, or threaten other nations with war unprovoked. We would more than likely be willing to cooperate in securing diplomacy with nations that doesn't fall under such categories. I would also suggest considering on whether or not we should re-enter the Seleyan Union. Coleen Deneel, NGPoL MP, Candidate for Foreign Affairs Minister |

Message | Mr. Speaker, as we here it, our coalition partners would prefer to search for liable alliances. We shall therefore not call on neutrality and start the quest for potential allies. Lodewijk Verhesse Minister of Foreign Affairs |

Message | Mr. Speaker, we are looking forward to the results of the elections in Istalia. We would like to know what that would bring for the future. We are also taking a look at Rutania, where a new government managed to get rid of socialist reforms. As MP Deneel mentioned, we should be aware of frauds, and we do not see NEKK as a liable partner at this stage. Aron Koninkx LWA Deputy |
