| Dear Senate members, I am the new Health and Social Sciences, minister. I have come up with a proposal to protect the interest of common people and business alike. This law can be passed with a simple majority. I want my legacy as Health and Social Sciences Minister to include this, that the government does not interfere with healthcare. Article 1: The Government can not start a Universal Healthcare System in the Republic of Solentia. Also, any other government run healthcare system will also be illegal. Article 2: The Government cannot regulate how many businesses can provide healthcare unless they have been doing actions that are illegal. In doing this the price for healthcare can drop due to Capitalism. Article 3: The Government may not dictate whether people have certain medical procedures done or not. For example, if an 80-year-old asks for a nee replacement the government cannot say no or yes. This is to be decided by the Hospital and Doctors or other medical professionals. Article 5: The Government may not sell medications. This will be left to private companies. The government can regulate those medications, however. Article 6: The Government may not make taxes that involve medical treatments/healthcare. This also counts for Death Taxes as well. The Government does not need to take money from people trying to afford the high prices of medical coverage. Article 7: The Government can not force any citizen to have health care. This is for the individual to decide. Article 8: Any attempt to legalize abortion(except in medical emergencies), will have repeal this law in order to do so. Article 9: Any attempt to legalize Assisted Suicide will also have to repeal this law in order to do so. I hope you consider this law Dr. Otto von Lemograd Ph.D Health and Social Sciences Minister |
