MessageThe US tried letting states do what they would in the 1700s when the US was a Fedaration. There was no unity in the United States.
It did not work at all.

MessageThis is dangerous. Although it is important for local authorities to have control over issues which are less important on a national scale, Agriculture is. To ensure we produce the correct export crops and provide the right crops for consumption within our own nation, central control of subsidies is essential.

MessageTo the Conservatives: We are aware you prefer no subsidization, but why allow the federal government to have a monopoly on this issue?

To DLP: We believe that local regions are more knowledgable about their agriculture and therefore better equipped to make policy in that area.

Most importantly, the Citizens Party believes that we must decentralize public policy to make decision-making closer to the average person in Jelbania. If all decisions are made in the capital, then politics and government became more alien and distant. Localized government is true democracy.

MessageAgreed, devolution is essential.

Devolution ought to be controlled. Excessive devolution is dangerous. There is no use in governing a state that is not a state.

The DLP has considered this issue with its local party organisations, however, and has decided to support it.
