Description[?]:
The BPP propose a Bill seeking equality for the citizens of Baltusia - no one citizen should have rights placed above another. At present, Baltusian laws provide a contradictory and undefined mess for those minorities (for example, homosexual relationships are at present illegal, yet those who identify as homosexual are permitted in to our Armed Forces). Transgender Rights Transgender people suffer from discrimination and harassment in every aspect of their daily lives. Whether in the social, political, economic or cultural spheres, they are denied equality of rights and opportunities. There is no logical or rational defence for such exclusion. Only ignorance and indifference enable such a denial of basic fundamental rights to continue. The BPP are only too well aware of what the results of being treated as second-class citizens can be. Our politics are the result of resistance to marginalisation and discrimination. Self-determination is our core demand, not only as a nation, but also as diverse communities within that nation. When confronted with experiences which are similar to our own (such as those of ethnic minorities, refugees, women etc) it should be automatic for us, as Democrats, to understand and actively express that understanding through solidarity. The denial of justice from one section of this nation is a denial of the rights of us all. We seek to develop a comprehensive Strategy for Transgender People to ensure that the distinct needs of transgender people are reflected in public services and other areas of life. LGBT+ Rights It is imperative that the government plays an active role in securing equality for the LGBT community, as well as all those sections of our society that have been denied the right to play a full and equal part in determining the course of this land, and that such rights should be enshrined in law. It is also important to remember that such persons are not a community set apart from the wider population. In every community, in every locality and in every political party, there are transgender, gay or cross-dressing people who are denied equality on the grounds of their identification. The government has a responsibility to ensure that within its own ranks and the wider community it represents, that second-class citizenship is not acceptable, and that the rights of such people are not negotiable. At a time when the inequities of the society within which we live are so readily observable, we must rise to the challenge and confront all forms of exclusion, discrimination and marginalisation. It is time we moved on and made our position crystal clear - there is no room for discrimination on the grounds of personal orientation in our party, in our community nor in our country. The BPP has long supported the improvement of rights afforded to these communities, who often face discrimination on a wide range of issues. We seek the introduction of legislation to extend civil marriage provisions to same sex couples, including robust protections for faith groups and religious celebrants who do not wish to marry same-sex couples. Similarly, we propose to lift the ban on gay (and unmarried) couples adopting. The BPP understands this proposal precedes a seismic shift in Baltusian society, but we as a party, and as a nation, should exert that no life is placed above another. I thank the members for their time and considerations. Gemma Sherry, Shadow SoS for Justice, BPP |

Message | People of Baltusia, Do you believe that Children who have been disenfranchised their whole life should be stuck in a family of abuse, hatred, poverty, and pain, then support this bill. The unrestriction of adoption allows children to be adopted like this by unmarried couples or even singles. This is absolutely unacceptable and The Neededs will never support this bill for this reason. The only time would they recognize this as worth voting for would be if only married couples could adopt children. For Baltusia, Bill Pully, your friendly neighborhood Needed |
