Message | This budget will redirect the resources of the Aldegarian government towards the needs of the Aldegarian people. * Ministries which hold huge budgets but don't actually *do* anything that requires such large amounts of money will be forced to make efficiency savings. Taxpayers money must not be wasted on bureacrats! * The Internal Affairs Ministry will see its budget boosted, so more can be spent on tackling crime. Cuts will be made to the Justice Ministry, however - why is it that in Aldegar, we spend as much on the courts and prison systems as we do on the entire police service? * The Trade & Industry and Science & Technology Ministries perform too many tasks they should not be doing, handing out government grants where they should be leaving things to the market. Cuts can be made. * The Environment & Tourism Ministry will be given more money to work on environmental schemes. * More money will be given to Health & Social Services, to ensure the poorest receive good healthcare provision too. * Most importantly of all, the education budget will be very *substantially* increased. With the passing of this budget, you, the political leaders of Aldegar, have the opportunity to revolutionise standards of education in this country. We have lagged behind the rest of the world too long; now is the time to show we can take action! This is a radical, forward-looking budget which will prepare Aldegar for the twenty-third century, and I commend it to the Grand Council. Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer. |
