The Defense Minister becomes a minister for a reason and is supposed to know who is the best for their function as a military officer. Even though it might sound like the Minister has too much power, we do not think it is the best solution.

Let us explaiin this in an easy informal way: The members of certain units may vote for an officer, a leader, which is 'the best' for them, the one who resists the least and the one they could influence.

On the other hand, the Defense Minister should and could make sure that no such officer gets to such position easily, therefore maintaining the proper balance in the military.

Random fact: Moderation will not approve a Cultural Protocol request within the first 48 hours of it being requested. This is in order to give other players a chance to query the proposed changes, if they wish to do so. Moderation may be approached for advice on a proposed change, but any advice proffered should always be understood under the provisio that no final decision will be made until at least 48 hours after the request has been formally submitted for approval.
