| I, Teodoro Carraro, on behalf of and with consultation of Head of Government Leo Tomassi, propose the following budget for the Istalian Empire. Notably, we shift some priorities away from domestic spending (which has been rendered obsolete with the liberalizing reforms that this government has undertaken) and towards our role in the global environment. Foreign affairs and defence both see substantial percentage increases in their spending, as does Internal affairs. The first role of government is to keep its people safe and secure, and we will ensure that it upheld with this proposal. To more than make up for the additional spending priorities, we reduce funding to infrastructure and transport, health and social services, education and culture, science and technology, and environment and tourism. This is all done because the private sector can better handle these areas that the imperial government. We will not sit on the surplus this bill generates; instead, we will return it to the taxpayers in the form of tax cuts. |
